Always give a wild animal a way out, a path to flee. You never want to completely surround an animal or hem it in. Watch for signs that you are making the animal nervous. This includes pacing, fidgeting, making distress or warning calls or even, possibly, mock charges. Another sign to watch for, a wild animal is likely to defecate in preparation of fleeing.
